The youth baseball league in our area limits pitchers to a predefined number of pitches per game or week. Rather than purchase a mechanical pitch counter that I would likely eventually lose, I decided to develop this basic pitch counting app for the iPhone. It can be used used at games, practices, or just throwing the ball around the yard to track pitch count to limit fatigue or reduce the risk of arm injury due to overexertion.
At this point, its intended as a basic app to keep track of strikes, balls and total pitches. The application will save pitch counts on exit or interruptions allowing you continue where you left off after reopening the app.
For more functionality, including the capability to track strike/ball percentages, pitch counts by pitching motion, set max pitch count and track remaining pitches, as well as in app emailing of statistics, please check out other app, DiamondStats Pitcher.
